‘511 hectares are being restored to nature’

Short summary...

Within the scope of the ‘Rehabilitation of Hüsamlar Re-Old Mine Site’ project, a total area of 511 hectares is aimed to be restored to nature. This is considered to be the largest rehabilitation work in the history of the Republic and 65 hectares of land has been rehabilitated so far. Arslan Narin, General Director of Mining and Petroleum Affairs, made remarkable statements on the importance of the project.

In addition, one of the important names involved in the project is Prof. Dr. Mücahit Taha Özkaya, Director of the Food Safety Institute at Ankara University. As one of the consultants of the project, he explains the importance of the rehabilitation process and the benefits of the areas to be restored to nature. The project aims to plant 20.7 million trees and create an inventory on 9 thousand hectares of land. Academics and experts from various universities are also contributing to the project. The project is of great importance in terms of nature conservation and sustainable environmental management. This project, advised by Prof. Dr. Mücahit Taha Özkaya, stands out with its contribution to nature and the environment.
