Domat and Ayvalik Olive Olea europaea L. To the Rooting of Their Varieties in Shaded Polyethylene Tunnel Spt...

Domat, which is difficult to root, and Ayvalık, which is easy to root, are important olive varieties for green table olives and olive oil in Turkey, respectively. This research was conducted in order to obtain the nursery plants of Domat and Ayvalık that are ready for sale. Shaded Polyethylene Tunnels In SPT, it has been ensured that steels are rooted in different sizes and in different environments and taken at different times of the harvest year.

The cuttings are prepared in three sizes as 1, 2 and 3 knuckles with two leaves. Rooting media; I. Control Sand, II. Pearlite: Peat: Sand: Silt 1:1:1:1 , III. Pearlite: Peat: Sand: Silt 1:2:1:2 , IV. Pearlite: Peat: Sand: Silt 1:1:2:2 , V. Pearlite: Peat: Sand: Silt 0:0:1:1 and VI. Pearlite: Peat: Sand: Silt 1:0:1:1. The cuttings were kept in SPT for 60 days for rooting and then kept in the shade for another 30 days. Vegetative growth characteristics, percentage survival rate, callus development and rooting were determined by studying. While Ayvalik steels formed both callus and root, Domat steels formed only callus. The highest callus formation was observed in 70% of Ayvalık 1 knuckle steels taken in May in a 1:0:1:1 rooting environment, and the highest rooting was observed in 40% of three knuckle steels on the same date and environment. The highest callus in Domat was formed in 3 nodal segments in May with 1:2:1:2 media. However, as in Ayvalık, rooting was very low in Domat. This is probably due to the fact that the rooting environment does not create a suitable environment for accidental root formation. 1, 2 and 3 gnarled cuttings bearing 2 leaves have differed in rooting percentage with different applications.
